Alibaba Cloud adds DeepSeek 1017 to Token Plan: migration and quota boundaries

The October 20 integration guide separates interactive subscription use from backend billing and explains the snapshot’s thinking switch.

Alibaba Cloud’s October 20 guide says deepseek-v4.1-flash-1017 is available in Token Plan Personal Edition, replacing deepseek-v4.1-flash in that plan’s catalogue. This is a managed-service integration update, distinct from DeepSeek’s earlier model release. Existing subscribers are told to change the model name while keeping their Token Plan key and Base URL.

Alibaba Cloud adds DeepSeek 1017 to Token Plan: migration and quota boundaries

At a glance

  • The article lists a 1M-token context, text/image input and text output. The API reference lists a default max_tokens of 393,216, implicit caching and JSON Object support, but not JSON Schema.
  • Token Plan is for interactive coding/agent tools. Automation scripts, application backends and batch jobs require pay-as-you-go credentials; this snapshot does not support Batch calls or fine-tuning.

A plan-catalogue change, not another model launch

The managed model name matters because a hosted subscription does not necessarily expose the same identifiers or features as the original developer’s API. Alibaba Cloud says 1017 takes over the older entry in Token Plan Personal Edition and retains a 1M-token context with text and image input and text output. The article attributes shorter agent completion times and less intermediate writing to DeepSeek’s self-feedback training, but provides no independent integration benchmark. AISubHub analysis: the first migration check is a representative task on the intended Alibaba endpoint, with its model identity and result checked together. A ranking score for a model elsewhere does not prove this exact subscription configuration or its latency.

Monthly Credits are a bounded interactive allowance

The article describes Lite as a monthly pool of 11,500 Credits that resets each subscription month. This is a platform accounting unit, not 11,500 raw tokens or a guaranteed number of completed tasks. Other modalities draw from the same catalogue-wide pool. It also describes a limited-time half-Credits window for listed DeepSeek models from 22:00 to 08:00 UTC+8, without an end date in this article. Treat that as a conditional promotion, not a permanent reduction. Most importantly, the plan is for interactive coding and agent tools: automation scripts, application backends and batch jobs belong on pay-as-you-go credentials. A monthly subscription therefore is not a substitute for unrestricted production API billing.

Thinking and output format need explicit checks

For an existing setup using deepseek-v4.1-flash, the article first says to change one model-name line, keeping the plan key and Base URL. It then makes an exception for configurations that tuned reasoning: use enable_thinking for 1017 rather than carrying reasoning_effort over blindly. The article demonstrates extra_body with the OpenAI Python SDK and a top-level parameter for plain HTTP; we did not run either example. Its linked reference lists temperature 1.0, top_p 1.0 and max_tokens 393,216 as defaults for the snapshot. It supports function calling, implicit context caching and JSON Object output, while JSON Schema and prefix completion are not supported. JSON validity is therefore a different promise from conformance to an application schema.

Separate API capability from plan entitlement

The Alibaba API reference confirms that 1017 supports Responses API in Beijing, Singapore, Virginia, Frankfurt, Tokyo and Hong Kong, with web_search, web_extractor and code_interpreter. That is API documentation, not proof that every tool and region is included in this Token Plan. Batch calls and fine-tuning are explicitly unsupported for this snapshot. The article also says reasoning is billed as output, so output control can affect quota consumption as well as answer length. AISubHub analysis: check key type, model, permitted workload, thinking flag and a bounded output limit together. Read current console terms for promotions and availability; a successful call alone would not establish billing eligibility. We inspected public documentation only and did not inspect any user’s balance or private usage.

Why it matters

AISubHub analysis: changing a model identifier is only part of a migration. Validate thinking behavior, output limits, structured-output expectations and the intended quota pool before relying on the replacement.
